1 Dead, 1 Critically Injured in Egg Harbor Township Rehab Facility Shooting
A shooting at a rehabilitation center in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, left one person dead and another critically injured on Monday morning, according to authorities.
The incident occurred at the Excelcare Rehabilitation Facility on Delilah Road, where police responded after receiving reports of gunfire. Emergency crews arrived quickly and transported one victim to a nearby hospital in critical condition, while another was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials with the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the shooting appears to be an “isolated incident,” adding that the individuals involved were known to each other. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims.
The Egg Harbor Township Police Department is leading the investigation, working alongside county prosecutors to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Local news outlet FOX 29 Philadelphia reported that there is no ongoing threat to the public as the investigation continues.
