Lambton College Shooting: Police Chief Urges Suspect to Surrender After Deadly Pub Attack
Sarnia pub shooting leaves one dead, multiple injured
A deadly shooting at the on-campus Lion’s Den pub at Lambton College in Sarnia has left a 20-year-old man dead and two others injured, triggering a provincewide manhunt for the suspected gunman.
The victim has been identified as Dane Nisbet, a junior hockey player from Sarnia who was fatally shot during an early morning incident on April 10, 2026.
Police chief delivers strong message to suspect
Sarnia Police Chief Derek Davis directly addressed the accused shooter, Kyaw (Chin) Doe, urging him to surrender.
“Turn yourself in,” Davis said, warning that arrest is inevitable and that tactical teams are actively searching.
Doe, 24, of London, faces charges including second-degree murder, attempted murder, and firearm offenses. Police describe him as armed and dangerous.
Chain of events leading to the shooting
Investigators say the incident followed a night of bar-hopping across Sarnia involving Doe, Oudom (Richard) Bun, and others.
Earlier in the night, tensions escalated at locations including Chuck’s Roadhouse Bar & Grill in the Lambton Mall area, where a confrontation reportedly involved a firearm being displayed and property damage.
The group later moved to Two Amigos Restaurant & Bar before arriving at the Lion’s Den on campus, where police say an altercation escalated on the patio.
Shooting at Lion’s Den pub
At the Lion’s Den, police allege a suspect pulled a Glock 45 handgun with an extended magazine and fired multiple shots into a crowd, striking three people.
Alongside Doe and Bun, several others have been arrested in connection with the case, including Johnathan Osborne-Walsh and Ava-Leigh Lightheart, who face charges related to aiding after the fact.
Ongoing investigation and manhunt
Authorities continue to search for Doe, who is believed to have fled the Sarnia area. Police have confirmed the investigation is active and evolving, and more arrests or charges could follow.
Officials are urging anyone with information to come forward as the manhunt continues.
