Police were called to the university around 2:45 p.m. on April 13, 2026, following concerns about a potentially armed individual. As a precaution, students, staff, and nearby residents were instructed to remain indoors while officers investigated the situation.

By approximately 5:00 p.m., authorities announced the shelter-in-place had been lifted, confirming that the incident had been resolved and there was no ongoing threat to public safety. Officials also reported that no injuries occurred.
