Man Shot in Broad Daylight in West Hollywood Random Attack Under Investigation

A man was shot in broad daylight during a random and unprovoked attack while walking with his family in West Hollywood on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Shooting Reported on Norton Avenue

Authorities said the incident occurred around 12:07 p.m. in the 7900 block of Norton Avenue after emergency dispatchers received reports of a gunshot victim in the area. When deputies arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, along with multiple shell casings at the scene.

Suspect Approached Family Before Opening Fire

Local reporting from WeHoOnline indicates that a suspect walked up to the victim—who was out walking with his wife and infant child—and opened fire in what investigators believe was a random and unprovoked attack.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital. His current condition has not yet been released.

Active Investigation in West Hollywood

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department continue to investigate the shooting. As of now, no suspect has been identified or taken into custody, and the weapon used in the attack has not been recovered.

Recent Similar Violence in the Area

This shooting comes just days after another incident in Los Angeles’ Fairfax District, where a woman was shot while standing on a balcony on Vista Street. Authorities are still searching for a suspect in that case as well.

The latest incident, captured in part by Sky5 aerial footage from KTLA, shows deputies actively processing the crime scene as the investigation continues.
